Cities Implementing Vehicle Idling Bans

Our database on cities implementing vehicle idling bans has been improved, as we have compiled information on several UK cities that have enacted such measures. Then we list U.S. cities that have similar regulations, including contact information and web links.

United Kingdom National Idling Ban
In the UK, different cities have taken an initiative to abate vehicle idling, primarily intending to purify the air and defy the onset of pollution. As an illustration, Brighton and Hove have come up with the penalty for drivers who keep their engines on while sitting. It is the same as the Camden Council in London that uses a traffic management order to ban engine idling and the enforcement officers can penalize the car owners when they are not compliant.
